Wedding Themes and Invitations
Theme weddings are slowly growing in popularity. You can tie a theme wedding into the season, your home state, or even a foreign country. These casual weddings delight guests, especially children, and make your wedding a day no one will ever forget.
Saving Money with a Theme Wedding
One of the benefits of a theme wedding is the expense. In reality, you can get group participation in a theme wedding and this can cut your bills down significantly. As the wedding is going to be casual, in lieu of gifts you can ask
guests to bring a food or drink related to your theme.
Lets say for example, youve always dreamed getting married in Jamaica, but the expense is unreasonable. You can choose a Jamaican theme. All guests could bring Jamaican themed drinks and dishes. The need for a caterer is eliminated. All guests can wear casual beachwear.
To follow your theme, you can select wedding invitations that have pictures of sandy beaches, palm trees, and even seashells.
Exploring Theme Ideas
There are many possibilities for themes that have been used time and time again. In the springtime, many a bride and groom have chosen a casual outdoor wedding amidst blossoming lilacs, tulips, daffodils, violets, and crocuses. The newly budding flowers offer an amazing palette of
colors to work with and bouquets become easy to manage.
Food can include first barbecues, first fruit of the season (strawberries), and springtime brews. If you have a local microbrew company, many of them discount kegs of their current seasonal offering. This can be an excellent way to tie in an alcoholic beverage without becoming expensive.
Winter brings images of pine branches (dark green) and poinsettias (dark red). Bridesmaid and groomsmen can be dressed in complementary shades of pine and deep red. Silk flowers are easy to find and add tremendous color
to a creamy white wedding cake.
Another popular theme, is a Fall wedding. The crisp air and beautiful fallen leaves make for a very pretty wedding.
Medieval or Victorian themed weddings can transport guests back in time. Heavenly roast beef dinners and suckling pigs make for unforgettable sit-down dinners. The romantic feel is complemented by dresses with extra long trains, flowing sleeves, and flowery headdresses. If you can
afford the expense, arriving by horse and carriage is both suitable for the theme and stunning for those waiting to see the bride make her entrance. Medieval themed weddings can be a little more expensive, but the romantic feel cannot be topped.
Another popular trend is the decision to revolve your wedding around that of another country. A Spanish themed wedding with succulent Spanish dishes, frilly Spanish
